CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The Elgin woman who was forced by the city last month to down-size her anti-Trump sign has died at the age of 94.

The sign in Myra Becker's front yard?

"It says 'Impeach' in large letters, and in smaller letters it says 'Trump,'" said Becker's daughter Tracy Dillinger.

The original sign was 3-feet by 4-feet.

Then Elgin told Myra Becker her sign was in code violation and to cut it down to 3-feet square to comply with the code.

So she put up a slightly smaller sign, but the message remained intact: "Impeach Trump."

"She wasn't a rule breaker.  And if there was a way for her to do things in accordance with the rules, she would do it that way."

Dillinger said she doesn't think her mother felt like she fought city hall and lost.

"If they would've told her to change the message or that she couldn't have a sign with those words on it, that would've been different," she said.

She said her mother's health deteriorated over the last week, and she died Tuesday night in her sleep in hospice.

Dillinger said her mother's sign is still out in front of the house.

"I'm not sure what we're going to do with it.  Right now it has a black scarf on it.  So we're going to... we'll talk about it as a family and see what we're going to do with it," she said.

Services are Thursday.
