Illumination: Tree Lights Returns For 6th Year At Morton Arboretum

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Highlighting the beauty of nature this winter, Illumination returns to the Morton Arboretum.

The Morton Arboretum announced the return of Illumination: Tree Lights with all-new experiences and returning favorites.

Visitors will be greeted will color as they walk a one-mile path surrounded by 50 acres of the Morton Arboretum’s trees, glowing in hues of blue, green, purple, and magenta.

“Illumination is celebrating its sixth season with dynamic new experiences that draw attention to the gifts trees give us,” said Sue Wagner, vice president of education and information at The Morton Arboretum, in a statement. “By capturing the beauty and value of trees in radiant light and color and through special effects, Illumination is an unforgettable wintertime event full of fresh surprises and beloved experiences.”

The Morton Arboretum has many new experiences for this years event including the Crown of Light experience, the Woodland Wonder experience, and weekday entertainment. Entertainment includes visits with Santa on Tuesdays, live music on Wednesdays, and beer, wine and spirits tastings on Thursdays.

Plus many fan-favorites return including Treemagination, Symphony Woods, Meadow Lake Magic, Fantasy Forest, and Hug a Tree - where visitors can wrap their arms around one of three hickory trees and watch it respond with bright, pulsating light.

Illumination: Tree Lights will run from Nov. 16 through Jan. 1. Tickets range from $18 to $23 for adults and $12 to $15 for children. Members of The Morton Arboretum receive discounted ticket prices. Tickets are available online, at the Arboretum’s Information Desk or by calling 630-725-2066. Advance reservations are highly encouraged as nights sell out.
