Man Shot To Death In Vittum Park: Police

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A man was shot to death Tuesday in Vittum Park on the Southwest Side.

The man, whose age was not immediately known, was standing on the sidewalk about 12:45 a.m. in the 4700 block of South Cicero Avenue when someone walked up to him and opened fire, Chicago police said.

He was struck multiple times in the chest and rushed to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not yet confirmed the man’s death.

No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
