CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Police shot at least one person while responding to a scene Thursday night in south suburban Country Club Hills, prompting another state police investigation of an officer-involved shooting within a week.

At 9 p.m., officers arrived at the parking lot of a Bank of America, 4211 W. 167th St., and found two males near the ATMs, according to statements from Illinois State Police and Country Club Hills Public Safety Director William A. Brown.

Two males were reportedly “dragging a man” into the ATM area, Brown said. After officers showed up, they noticed a white vehicle with dark tinted windows attempting to escape the parking lot.

The vehicle rammed into one of the officers after they ordered it to stop, Brown said. The other officer fired his weapon, and struck the driver.

The Country Club Hills Police Department requested that the ISP Public Integrity Task Force investigate the officer-involved shooting, state police said.

State police said the investigation was in its infancy and that further information was not available.
