Game Of Thrones Season 8 Trailer Receives Over 20 Million Views In Less Than 24 Hours

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Winter is coming...but a full preview of what's to come is finally here.

It has been over a year since fans watched the season 7 finale of "Game of Thrones" and since then talks and sneak peaks of the highly-anticipated final season have kept fans hanging on - but the wait is over and looks to be definitely worth it.

HBO released Tuesday the official, full trailer for the final season of "Game of Thrones."

The trailer opens with a frantic Arya breathing heavily and running through a corridor.

"I know death. He's got many faces. I look forward to seeing this one," she is heard saying over the scene.

The clip continues with glimpses of Greyjoy ships carrying the Golden Company; a scene with Bran Stark and Sam Tarly, with a voiceover of Bran saying, "everything you did brought you to where you are now...where you belong...home"; Cersei with a devilish smile (twice); Jon and Daenerys riding side by side on horseback with a marching army; Sansa seeing dragons for the first time as Drogon and Rhaegal fly over Winterfell; Cersei at the Red Keep; and more.

"They're coming. Our enemy doesn't tire, doesn't stop, doesn't feel," Jon said and more scenes flash across the screen. 

We also see a glimpse of Grey Worm and Missandei's romanance continue. And of course, more dragon footage!

With tons of different battle scenes, fan receive confirmation that Jaime Lannister joins the Winterfell battle, and states, “I promised to fight for the living, I intend to keep that promise."

It closes with what looks to be a final battle against the Night King and the white walkers. 

The trailer also reveals the return of many fan-favorite characters including Brienne of Tarth, Podrick Payne, Tormund Giantsbane, Lord Varys, Jorah Mormont, Samwell Tarly, Grey Worm, Missandei, Gendry

Since the trailer was released Tuesday, it has received over 20 million views on YouTube and is in the top trending spot. 

Season 8 Game of Thrones, the final season, premieres April 14 on HBO. It will be comprised of six episodes, some rumored to be 90 minutes long.
