Fermilab Welcomes First Baby Bison Of The Year

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Spring has sprung at Fermilab.

A baby bison was born Saturday at Fermilab - the first baby born this year.

According the Fermilab, they expect between 12 and 14 new calves this spring. They said the new baby, and its mother, are doing well.

The Fermilab bison herd welcomed its first baby this season on April 20.

Fermilab invites guests to visit the bison and take pictures of the newborn calves. 

The bison herd was first established in 1969, by Fermilab's first director, Robert Wilson.

Fermilab is free and open every day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
