Hospital, First Responders Organization Collecting Donations For Mercy Hospital Shooting Victims

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The Mercy Hospital community and a first responders organization is stepping up to help following the mass shooting at Mercy Hospital on Monday.

Mercy Hospital and Medical Center has started a fund to help the families of Dr. Tamara O’Neal, 38, and pharmacy resident, Dayna Less, 24 - the two hospital workers killed in the shooting.

“Our Mercy Hospital & Medical Center community stands together during this difficult time,” read a message on the hospital’s online donation page. “All donations will directly benefit their families.”

Those interested in donating can visit, All donations can be made anonymously and companies can match gifts. 

The police community is also stepping up.

The 100 Club of Chicago, which provides financial assistance to the families of first responders killed on duty, is collecting donations for the family of Chicago Police Officer Samuel Jimenez, who was also killed in the shooting.
