Chicago Bears Plan To Commemorate 100th Season With Celebration Weekend, New Book, And More

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The Chicago Bears announced Thursday plans for the team's 100th season celebration in 2019.

The Chicago Bears will host a Bears100 Celebration Weekend on June 7-9 at the Rosemont Convention Center. The celebration is said to be the ultimate gathering of fans, players and alumni with the entire 2019 team and coaching staff scheduled to attend. The weekend will feature autograph sessions, photo opportunities, panels, memorabilia and merchandise sales, interactive games, kids activities and a walk-though Bears history zone. In addition to the Bears100 Celebration Weekend, the team will donate an additional $1 million in 2019 to causes that help the Chicago area be the best it can be, based on fan recommendations. As well as, during each Chicago Bears 2019 home game, the organization will pay homage to a different decade, calling out key milestones and honoring alumni from that era.

Plus, the release of The Chicago Bears Centennial Scrapbook. The book written by PFWA Dick McCann Award-winning sportswriters Don Pierson and Dan Pompei looks back  on the first 100 years of Bears history highlighted by interviews with Mrs. Virginia Halas McCaskey. The book will be available for presale at the Chicago Bears Pro Shop online and will be published in spring 2019. Book tour details will be available at a later date.
