CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Two LA-based actors from Chicago are going viral with their Instagram series, Hashtag Booked.

Danielle Pinnock and LaNisa Frederick met when they were both understudies at the Goodman Theater. The two honed their acting and comedy chops in Chicago by performing and studying at places like the Goodman Theater, Steppenwolf and The Second City.

They often talked about putting out their own content, and now, seven years later, they are both trying to make it work in Hollywood and are sharing comedic videos of what it's like to audition as women of color.

"We felt like there were conversations that women of color and actresses of color would have privately, but no one really knew what the real deal was," Pinnock said.

Pinnock said it's been rewarding to see the responses from viewers of their sketches who say they finally feel seen.

"We wanted to talk about those joys and misfortunes in a comedic way," she said.

Hashtag Booked is already captivating viewers and getting attention from celebrities like Billy Porter, Niecy Nash, 2 Dope Queens and Snoop Dogg.

Pinnock and Frederick said they hope to eventually make a TV show out of their series, and come back and shoot it in Chicago.
