Bob Roberts

Bob Roberts is a third-generation Wilmette resident who has spent all but four years of a 40+ year career covering Chicago.

He attended St. Francis Xavier School and Loyola Academy, reporting his first story at the age of six.  Bob majored in history and journalism at Indiana University and then spent three years at Chicago's best "graduate school or journalism" ever -- the late, great City News Bureau.

Bob works hard to stay fit and you may run into him at Wilmette's Community Recreation Center working on a treadmill, taking an exercise class or doing Zumba and Pilates. His other passion is running trains - big trains, at the Fox River Trolley Museum in South Elgin.

Bob is married to teacher, Jackie Bresse-Rodenkirk and the two share a home filled with rescued pets.Bob retired as a reporter April 16 and now enjoys spending time with his animals, his wife and traveling.
