CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Chicago Police say they are paying special attention to Jewish schools, synagogues and businesses, after Molotov cocktails were found in the Lakeview neighborhood.

The incendiary devices were found on West Melrose between Broadway and Sheridan. The Anshe Sholom B’nai Israel Congregation and a Jewish Community Center are on that block.

“We’re certainly disturbed by these attempted arson attacks,” David Goldenberg of the Anti-Defamation League told WBBM Newsradio on Monday.

“Thankfully the attack didn’t cause any injuries or damage.”

Chicago Police have been reviewing surveillance footage.

Several cars were also reported vandalized in the area of Touhy and California, which also has a large presence of Jewish institutions.
