CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Lincoln Park's infamous late-night hot dog stand, The Wiener's Circle, will continue to offer its customers char dogs, cheese fries and a side of insults for the foreseeable future.

The legendary hot dog stand's landlord last summer hired a broker to sell the property, fueling speculation a new owner would give Wiener's Circle the boot.

It turns out the property has just been sold to the restaurant's owners, ensuring the late night banter between staff and customers continues.

“It’s some Chicago color, putting it mildly,” Crain’s Chicago Business reporter Alby Gallun, who wrote about the deal, tells the Noon Business hour. “The restaurant employees just hurl invective on their customers, and the customers keep coming back, so it’s a successful formula.”

He said, by comparison, the daytime experience at Wiener's Circle is civil.
