CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- When it comes to Chicago and safety, the city ranks low. But it did come in first in one safety category that isn't too surprising: it's the top city for the most law enforcement employees per capita.

According to a new WalletHub report published Dec. 2, Chicago ranks first for the most law enforcement employees per capita but comes in as the 130th safest city in the U.S.

WalletHub compared more than 180 cities across 41 key indicators of safety. The data set ranges from assaults per capita to unemployment rate to road quality and natural disaster risks.

Aurora measured far better than the Windy City in the report, coming in at the 20th spot and the fifth safest home and community city. But just this weekend, there was an Aurora shooting that left one dead and five injured.

Columbia, Maryland comes in as the safest city in the country, according to the report.
