CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Chicago's Urban Prep Academy is celebrating its 10th consecutive year of having the entire senior class at the all-male all-black school get accepted to college.

One hundred and fifty young men from the school's campuses in Bronzeville, Englewood and the West Side announced their plans from the stage in a sunny Daley Plaza Wednesday afternoon and put on a baseball cap from their future alma mater.

Academy Founder Tim King told the crowd they are upholding a legacy that has seen 1,701 young men from some of Chicago's toughest neighborhoods gain acceptance to four-year universities and colleges in the past decade.

Monee Roberts wiped away tears as she beamed with pride over her son Landon's acceptance at Vincennes University.

They moved to Las Vegas, but returned to Chicago so that he could go to Urban Prep for the academics and the life lessons taught there.

Urban Prep administrators said students have earned more than 11,000 college acceptance letters and $10 million in scholarships and grants this year.
