(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- This month’s crop of graduates from Lewis University will have to wait until May for graduation ceremonies. You can blame it on the mumps.

The Lewis campus has 10 confirmed or suspected mumps cases to date and has already told students to be inoculated or they will be barred from campus as of Monday.

Graduation ceremonies originally scheduled for Dec. 15 and 16 will now take place May 17-19.

Despite that, the university says December graduates will have full access to transcripts and will be mailed diplomas on schedule.

Lewis is canceling all non-academic activities through Dec. 28, including home athletic contests.

Class times and finals are unchanged.
