CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Donald Trump is expected to make his first visit as president to Chicago, a city he has regularly vilified, late this month.

The Chicago Sun-Times and Tribune report Cubs co-owner Todd Ricketts will host a high-priced political fundraiser on Oct. 28 and the president may also speak to a national convention of police chiefs. Chicago’s Trump Tower is a possible location for the fundraising event.

Trump has been at odds with Chicago throughout his presidency, with the Republican blasting the city for its problems with gun violence and refusal to cooperate with his immigration policies. When Trump was a candidate in 2016, a Chicago rally had to be canceled due to intense anti-Trump protests outside the venue.

The Chicago Tribune reports the cost to attend the Oct. 28 fundraiser ranges from $2,800 for a single ticket, $35,000 in donations or raised funds for a photo opportunity with Trump to $100,000 in fundraising for a roundtable with the president.

Ricketts is the finance chairman for the Republican National Committee.
