CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- There are still some days left of summer and with that comes no shortage of festivals and other things to do in and around Chicago this weekend. 

From food fests to culture, wine and bourbon, to baseball and concerts, you're sure to find something to do.

Here's a look at things to do this weekend in and around Chicago.

German-American Oktoberfest  

Raise a stein, grab a pretzel, and dance the night away at this annual Lincoln Square celebration of Deutschland heritage. The street party takes place under two gigantic tents and features plenty of German food, music and dancing. Make sure to stop by to see the annual Von Steuben Parade march up Lincoln Avenue on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Festival de la Villita (Little Village Fest)

Viva México! It’s all about our southern neighbor’s rich culture when Festival de La Villita—perhaps the largest annual celebration of Mexican culture in the Midwest—returns to 26th Street in the heart of the Little Village neighborhood for its 30th celebratory year. Vendors and carnival rides fill the streets on all three days and on Sunday, the 26th Street Mexican Independence Day Parade ends here.

Where: 26th Street and Kostner Avenue (4400 W. 26th St.)

Little Village Mexican Independence Parade

Little Village's Mexican Independence Parade turns 50 this year, taking over a portion of 26th Street in the historically Hispanic neighborhood. The theme of this year's procession is "Celebrando Raices," celebrating the indiginous roots of the people who call Little Village home. The parade runs between Kedzie and Kostner on 26th Street.

Chicago Bourbon & Barbecue Fest

Smoked meats and barrel-aged bourbon whiskeys take the spotlight when the post-Labor Day happening that is Chicago Bourbon & Barbecue Fest returns for its third finger-lickin’ year to the heart of the Roscoe Village neighborhood.

Where: Roscoe Village, Damen and Roscoe St. (2000 W. Roscoe St.)

When: Saturday & Sunday, noon-10 p.m.

Cost: $5 suggested donation


Throwback Music Fest

Retro tunes and fun times are back for this fourth annual post-Labor Day happening in the Gladstone Park neighborhood. In addition to non-stop music acts there’s also food, kids’ fun, a pet parade, a vintage auto display and more.

Where: Gladstone Park, Milwaukee Avenue between Elston & Peterson

When: Friday, 4-10:30 p.m.; Saturday, 11 a.m.-10:30 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m.-9 p.m.

Champagne & Oyster Cruise

Come sail away with champagne and oysters! Featuring freshly shucked oysters from both East and West Coast paired with a variety of bubbly. Enjoy these fine delectables while taking in skyline views from Lake Michigan.

Renegade Craft

Renegade Craft is the world’s largest curated showcase of independent craft and design with a mission to create a vibrant and lively marketplace that reflects and illuminates modern makers. The craft fair includes 400+ makers and designers, hands-on workshops, art installations, food trucks, live DJ sets from Reckless Records and Lumpen Radio, Royal Palms shuffleboard, drinks and cocktails, and more.

Chicago Bike Revolution

New Belgium Brewing's Tour de Fat event is taking a year off, so West Town Bikes is teaming up with Revolution Brewing to present a new beer and biking festival in its place. It looks pretty familiar: there's a bike parade to kick off the day, plenty of cold beverages to enjoy, an appearance from local marching band Mucca Pazza and a stacked list of local musicians taking the stage throughout the afternoon. Soulful duo the O'My's headline the day's festivities, with support from singer/rapper/saxophonist Sen Morimoto, psych rock collective Glad Rags, and more. Proceeds from the event keep West Town Bikes' classes and youth programs rolling year-round.

Rose Wine

Rosé Fest on the Beach

Taste a variety of rosé wines while hanging out at Shore Club on North Avenue Beach! Tickets include rosé tastings, giveaways, and more!

Neon Summer

The folks behind Jack's Pumpkin Pop-up and Frosty's Christmas Bar have set their sights on summer in Chicago, when the weather is warm and people generally want to be doing something outdoors. Neon Summer transforms a two-acre stretch of land just west of Goose Island into a destination for family-friendly fun and late night thrills for those who are at least 21 years old. With a go-kart track, a mini golf course (outfitted with its own cocktail bars), photo opportunities for your Instagram and food trucks serving hot dogs, cotton candy and more, this pop-up may transport you back to the summers of your youth—even if they're a distant memory. Admission includes access to the mini-golf course, but you'll need to pay an additional fee to get behind the wheel of a go-kart.

ZooRunRun at Brookfield Zoo

Each year more species lose their race for survival and disappear from the wild. But it is a race we can win, and you can help. The Chicago Zoological Society Animal Care and Conservation Fund is dedicated to making a difference for these species across the globe and with each race entry, we will raise both awareness and funds for this great cause. Run individually, with your friends or better yet - team up and race against other family members, teammates or colleagues. Each participant will receive a moisture-wicking t-shirt, a bib containing your timing chip as well as snacks and beverages! And that's not all...bring your family and friends in for FREE to help cheer you on and enjoy the zoo.

Binny’s Taste at the Track  

Taste hundreds of varieties of wine at one of the largest wine tasting events of the fall. Binny's Taste at the Track event requires a Binny's Taste at the Track ticket. Ticket includes racecourse admission, a program, a tasting glass, a wine bag, and a promotional gift card.

Elmhurst City Centre’s Rock the Block Party

Truck Off

Presented by McHenry County Living, Truck Off is the premier food truck festival in the Midwest, bringing foodies from all over the region to throw down on 30 plus of the area’s hottest food trucks and to enjoy live entertainment, family games, shopping, drinks, and more. Proceeds from drinks purchased at Truck Off will benefit Helping Paws, the first and oldest no-kill animal shelter in McHenry County.
