CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- June is here and summer events in and around the city are in full swing. 

From food and music festivals, to sporting events and concerts, there is something for everyone. And don't forget, Sunday is Father's Day!

Here's a look at things to do this weekend in and around Chicago.

Ribfest Chicago

Head to North Center to celebrate ribs and Rock & Roll. The annual celebration of saucy pork brings together more than 30 vendors - so don't forget your napkins. Voted Chicago’s Best Food Fest, Ribfest Chicago is also nationally recognized for its music. Fest goers can enjoy 25 hours of original music, from honky tonk to indie and rock, performed by premier touring bands from across the US and abroad.

Taste of Randolph

Taking place on the same street occupied by some of Chicago's best-known restaurants, this West Loop fest boasts six blocks of food, drinks and music. You'll find bites from more than 16 restaurants, as well as two stages packed with performances throughout the day.

Where: West Loop, 900 W. Randolph St.

When: Friday, 5-10 p.m.; Saturday & Sunday, noon-10 p.m.

Cost: $10 suggested donation

Chicago Tacos & Tequila Festival

It’s a tasty combination! Stuffed tortillas and the juices of the blue agave plant will be taking the spotlight at this June’s all-new Chicago Taco & Tequila Fest. Both traditional and exotic ingredient-stuffed tortillas will be smartly paired with tequila-infused cocktails ranging from Classic Lime, Strawberry Mint, Jalapeno Cucumber, Mango, Passion Fruit, Watermelon, Peach margaritas, and Palomas.The fest will also feature margarita flights and tastings, mixologists and live bands and DJs. This is a 21+ event. 

Where: Cannon Dr. just north of Fullerton

Cost: $10; Ticket includes one complimentary margarita.

Craft Brews at the Zoo

Savor a selection of more than 150 craft beers at the fifth annual beer festival, Craft Brews, hosted by Lincoln Park Zoo and Lou Dog Events! Beer tasting stations will be set up throughout the zoo’s beautiful gardens during this one-of-a-kind, after-hours experience just for adults. Plus, enjoy food for purchase, DJ entertainment, lawn games, and views of the zoo’s amazing animals!

Cost: $49; VIP $79; designated driver $20

Japan Festival Chicago

Experience Japanese culture, cuisine and art at this free one-day festival that takes place at the Chicago Cultural Center and Millennium Park. You'll witness taiko drumming, karate demonstrations, J-Pop performances, tea ceremonies and more cultural experiences throughout the afternoon. Japanese TV personality Ai Haruna and comic storyteller Katsura Sunshine headline the festivities.

Pilsen Taco Fest

South Side nonprofit Inner City Culture hosts the Pilsen Taco Fest, where you can support local vendors serving carne asada, salsa verde and more delicious tortilla-wrapped dishes. Acts like DJ MDok, Eevie the Cool, Gio Sandz, Banda El Pueblo and Mariachi Traditional Juvenil will perform on the music stage while you chow down on all the delicious offerings.

Highland Games

33rd Annual Scottish Festival and Highland Games

Attendees experience Scotland's rich culture and special heritage, as this celebration showcasing a selection of activities and Scottish attractions. Indulge in great live music and food throughout the fun-filled weekend, including all grades of piping and drumming competitions, dance competitions, whisky tastings, The Parade of Tartans and the Heather Queen Crowning, the Men in Kilts Contest. All festivities conclude with Closing Ceremonies and Massed Bands Show, a concert featuring 1,000 bagpipers and drummers performing traditional musical selections.

Uncork Illinois Wine Fest

Wine aficionados will have a unique opportunity to sample over 150 wines from more than 15 local wineries at Downtown Oak Park’s seventh annual Uncork Illinois event.

Where: Downtown Oak Park, Marion Street between Lake Street and North Boulevard 

When: Saturday, 1-9 p.m.

Cost: “Tasting Access” Admission is $25 at entrance tents (cash only) or $20 Advance “Tasting Access” Admission tickets can be purchased online. “Tasting Access” includes a free souvenir glass and eight tastings tickets.

Ferris Wheel

Taste of Des Plaines

Grab your shades and tie dyed shirts, as the Taste of Des Plaines celebrates the 50th anniversary of Woodstock. The two-day, summer festival features great food from local restaurants, live entertainment on two stages, and family area with free activities including a rock climbing wall, gaming truck and more.

Where: Downtown Des Plaines on Ellinwood Street, between River Road and Lee Street.
