CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A teenager and a 12-year-old boy were arrested after a SWAT standoff Thursday in Roseland on the Far South Side.

The child and the 17-year-old are each charged with misdemeanor counts of criminal trespass to property and reckless conduct, according to Chicago police.

The situation started when a man reported his 2011 Kia stolen at 3:28 p.m. from the 7400 block of North Clark Street in Rogers Park, police said. He used GPS to track the car and told police he found it in the 11000 block of South Vernon Avenue.

Officers responded at 4:42 p.m. and saw the boys run from the stolen car into an abandoned building, police said. A nearby construction worker told officers one of them was carrying a gun.

A SWAT team was called to the scene and one of the boys was arrested about an hour later, police said. The other was taken into custody about 9:30 p.m. when officers entered the building.

No weapon was recovered at the scene, according to police.
