(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A man driving a vehicle matching one linked to the murders of a couple in their Buffalo Grove condo parking garage last Sunday shot himself in a standoff with Edina, Minnesota police Friday night.

Earlier this week, Buffalo Grove Police Chief Steven Casstevens said suspect Anatoliy Ermak was believed to be driving a white Nissan Versa hatchback matching the description of the suspect who the police say was responsible for the Buffalo Grove slayings.

Casstevens said Ermak walked into the garage on Lake Boulevard last Sunday after his ex-wife, Nataliya Ermak, and her husband, Roman Frid, pulled in.

"After a brief conversation, the suspect shot both victims multiple times with a hand gun," Casstevens said of the murder.

The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that court records show Ermak’s last known address was the Edina condo outside of which police confronted him Friday night. He and Nataliya purchased the property together in 2004 and appeared as co-owners on legal documents as recently as this year.

As of Saturday afternoon, Anatoliy Ermak remains in critical condition, according to multiple reports.
