(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Three men were killed and another critically wounded in a shooting outside a convenience store in West Garfield Park on Wednesday afternoon.

They were standing on a sidewalk in front of a store about 2:48 p.m. in the 4200 block of West Madison Street when someone in a white sedan opened fire, according to Chicago police and fire officials.

Three men, ages 19, 22 and 23, were struck and taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where they died, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. Their names have not been released.

A fourth man, 22, was taken to a hospital for treatment, police said.

At least 40 evidence markers were scattered throughout the Quick Drive Thru Food Mart’s parking lot, where shell casings were found. A pool of blood could be seen in front of the store’s entrance.

No arrests have been reported. Area North detectives are investigating.
