Pickpocket Targets CTA Passengers In Gresham: Police

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Chicago police are warning residents of three pickpocket thefts reported in January and February in Gresham on the South Side.

In each incident victims were on a CTA bus or train when they realized someone had stolen their belongings, Chicago police said in a community alert. In one theft the victim was bumped into by an unknown person and in another the victim’s clothes were cut to remove their belongings.

The thefts happened at about 8:20 a.m. Jan. 29, at about 5 a.m. Feb. 8 and at about 11:45 a.m. Feb. 10 in the first block of West 79th Street, police said.
