Person Killed In Plainfield Crash

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A person was killed and two others were hurt in a crash Thursday in southwest suburban Plainfield.

Officers were called at about 9:10 p.m. to the area of Route 126 between Meadow Lane and Indian Boundary for a vehicle crash, Plainfield police said.

The 37-year-old driver of a Toyota Camry lost control of his vehicle while traveling east on Route 126 and struck a BMW X5, police said. The driver was airlifted to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital with life-threatening injuries, while his passenger was pronounced dead on the scene.

The 58-year-old woman driving the BMW was taken to Rush Copley Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Plainfield police are investigating the crash.
