Debris From Carnival Ride Collision Injures Boy

(WBBM NEWSRADIO)-- A child was hurt by falling debris Thursday after two carnival rides collided in south suburban Midlothian.

Two unoccupied rides collided about 5:56 p.m. and sent the debris toward the 9-year-old boy, according to Midlothian Fire Chief Stephen Hotwagner.

The incident happened outside St. Christopher Church at 147th and Karlov streets.

The child was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Hotwagner said. His condition was not available.

Midlothian police did not immediately responded to a request for details.
