Convenience Stores Robbed In Loop: Police

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Police are warning business owners after three robberies were reported over the last few weeks in the Loop.

In each case, suspects entered a convenience store and took items from behind the sales counter, Chicago police said in an alert. They punched or pushed the store clerk out of the way when confronted and ran off.

The robberies happened:

• At 1:20 a.m. Aug. 22 in the 300 block of East Jackson Boulevard

• At 9:28 p.m. August 23 in the first block of East Adams Street

• At 3:24 p.m. Sept. 8 in the first block of East Jackson Boulevard

In two of the cases, three males were involved, police said. They were described as wearing black hoodies and black jeans in one incident.

In another incident, the suspect was described as a 16 to 17-year-old boy, police said.
