CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A Roosevelt University student is in custody after Chicago police say he stabbed a classmate Thursday afternoon.

It happened at around 1:20pm in a dorm room on the school's Loop campus.

Police say two 18-year-old males got into an argument and one stabbed the other in the chest several times.

The victim was taken to the hospital in serious condition - as was the offender, who's in good condition with a cut to the leg.

Roosevelt University campus safety had no comment.

The school tweeted an alert to students that they're working with police to investigate.
