ST. CHARLES (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Police in west suburban St. Charles have been on the scene of a death investigation at the Pheasant Run Resort.

It is the death of a 61-year-old Plainfield man that's being investigated.

He's been identified as Earl Hagen.

St. Charles Police say Hagen was apparently hit by a car on the parking lot of the Pheasant Run Resort. He suffered upper body injuries.

WBBM Newsradio spoke with his brother, Mark, who says he has been told his brother's death was "suspicious."

"Me and my brother had our differences but he's still my brother,” the sibling said. “Somebody ran him down and killed him, ran him over with a car.”

He added: "I'd like to know about it, and they should be held responsible. Hell, if I ran somebody over with a car, I know they'd be coming after me."

Mark Hagen says his brother's girlfriend was being questioned by authorities.

Earl Hagen had been accused of domestic battery earlier this year in Winnebago County.

Hagen said his brother had been a cab driver in Chicago and in Park Ridge for many years, but retired about six years ago.
