CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A man is facing charges after a fatal street racing crash on Chicago’s South Side.

Police said 28-year-old Nicholas Greer of Englewood was racing two other vehicles northbound on Indiana Avenue Sunday afternoon.

There was a red light at Pershing road, and investigators say his car spun out as he tried to stop, hitting 52-year-old Marie Frizer and a 61-year-old man while they were waiting to cross Pershing.

Frizer was in a wheelchair. She was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital an hour later. The man suffered a broken arm and leg.

The black box in the car showed it was traveling at 91 mph before the crash.

Greer is charged with reckless homicide and aggravated reckless driving.
