Severe Thunderstorm Warning For Chicago Suburbs, Flash Flood Warning Still In Effect

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Chicagoland is getting hit with all the elements today. 

A tornado watch has been issued for LaSalle County until 11 p.m and a thunderstorm warning was issued for La Salle, Grundy and Livingston counties until 3:45 p.m, according to the National Weather Service. 

Dwight and Cornell could get hit with hail and wind up to 50 miles per hour and a flash flood warning is still en effect through the night. Sterling, Joliet, Ottoawa, Kankakee, Pontiac, Peoria and more are part of the flood watch, as well as Gary and Rensselaer, Indiana.

NWS Chicago said the flood warning could continue overnight. 

Chicago will continue to experience heavy rain and thunderstorms through late afternoon, with terrential downpours that could cause flooding, lightining and gusting winds.
