'Roseanne' Cancellation A Far-Reaching Business Decision

(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The cancellation of Roseanne Barr's TV sitcom following a racist tweet she made has far-reaching implications, one observer tells the WBBM Newsradio Noon Business Hour.

"ABC stations were depending on the show being part of the fall schedule,” said Tim Hanlon, founder and CEO of the Vertere Group in Chicago.

The network’s decision to pull the plug on the “Roseanne” revival comes shortly after ABC touted the show to advertisers.

Hanlon adds that there are a lot of people who put their time and effort into a show like this and many of them will be economically impacted.
