People Briefly Stranded On Ride At Six Flags Great America

June 11, 2019 - 6:09 pm

GURNEE (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A spokeswoman for Six Flags Great America says about 15 people, including children, were stuck on the Crazy Bus ride in the Camp Cartoon section of the park for about 15 minutes Tuesday afternoon.

The people were suspended about 20 feet in the air.

"From what I am hearing from our operations and maintenance and safety teams is that the parent potentially grew impatient,” spokeswoman Caitlin Kepple said.

The Gurnee Fire Department did respond to an emergency call, but a spokesman says they did not have to rescue anyone.

Kepple says the Crazy Bus ride was re-started and that no one had to be taken off the ride by ladder.

She says the ride is operating again.
