Has Chris Paul Had Enough of James Harden and the Houston Rockets?

June 19, 2019 - 8:37 am

The Rockets, most notably Chris Paul and James Harden, are on the verge of combusting, according to an explosive report from Vincent Goodwill of Yahoo Sports.

The relationship between the pair of guards is reportedly "unsalvageable" and headed toward a split. After the Rockets crashed out against a Kevin Durant-less Warriors in the second round of the NBA Playoffs, Paul demanded a trade, issuing an ultimatum in which he asked management to pick between him and Harden.

Paul and Harden reportedly didn't speak to each other for two months during the season.

General manager Daryl Morey has adamantly denied the report, though. Morey told multiple reporters that there is no friction between Paul and Harden and that he has spoken to both players since the season ended and the Rockets point guard has not requested a trade.

Paul also voiced surprise in the story, writing on an Instagram comment of a Bleacher Report post of the report, "Damn, that's news to me."

If the Rockets were to trade Paul, he is anchored down by a massive contact.

The 34-year-old makes $38.5 million next year, $41.3 million the season after that and $44.2 million in his final campaign under his current contract.
