(670 The Score) The Bears will hire Bill Lazor as their new offensive coordinator, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported Monday evening.

Listen to your team news NOW.

Lazor, 47, previously served as the offensive coordinator for the Dolphins (2014-'15) and the Bengals (2017-'18). He was Cincinnati's quarterbacks coach in 2016. The Bengals fired him after the conclusion of the 2018 season, and Lazor didn't coach in the NFL in 2019.

Bears coach Matt Nagy is expected to continue to call plays for Chicago, which struggled in ranking 29th in total offense in 2019.

The Lazor-led Bengals offense had little success in ranking dead last in total offense in 2017 and then 26th in 2018. Cincinnati was second-to-last in rushing in 2017 and then 21st in rushing in 2018.

Lazor replaces Mark Helfrich, whom the Bears fired on Dec. 31 after a disappointing 8-8 season.
