CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- There were 11 aldermanic run-off elections in Chicago on Tuesday and four incumbents lost.

After 36 years in City Council, 40th Ward Alderman Patrick O'Connor was defeated Tuesday by challenger Andre Vasquez.

And the 44-year reign of Mells holding onto the 33rd Ward seat came to an end with Tuesday's loss by Alderman Deborah Mell to Rossana Rodriguez Sanchez.

Incumbents Milly Santiago (31st Ward) and Toni Foulkes (16th Ward) also lost to Felix Cardona and Stephanie Coleman.

And if you think every vote does not count, consider Alderman James Cappleman kept his seat by a slim 23-vote margin.
