Suspicious Package Found in Backpack of Man Struck by Subway Deemed Safe

(1010 WINS) —A suspicious package found in the backpack of a man hit by a train in Queens Friday morning has been deemed safe, police confirmed.

The man seems to have jumped out in front of an A train at 80th Street in Woodhaven.

Service has been suspended on the A line between Euclid Av. and Lefferts Blvd./Howard Beach.

He was taken to Jamaica Hospital in critical condition. 

Police found the suspicious package after examining his bag.

NYPD’s Bomb Squad has been called in to look at the package.

Buses are being provided for commuters while subway service is suspended.
