(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Facing numerous allegations of sexual abuse, singer R. Kelly spent the wee hours of the morning in a Springfield, Illinois nightclub.

R. Kelly appeared at Dirty South Lounge in the state capital city. He gave a 28-second performance and spent about 30 minutes interacting with fans who paid between $50 and $100 to get in, the Associated Press reports.

“This is how I got to get paid now, for right now,” he said in an Instagram post before the appearance.

The Chicago native owes tens of thousands of dollars in child support and is currently out on $1 million bail. He is accused of sexually abusing several women, including minors.

Kelly was acquitted of child-porn charges in 2008, but a docuseries, “Surviving R. Kelly,” renewed scrutiny into the celebrity’s personal life and led to new charges earlier this year.
