Postal Service Smells Money With Scratch-And-Sniff Stamps

May 21, 2018 - 7:11 pm

(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The U.S. Postal Service thinks it knows a good idea when it smells one.

For the first time it is issuing scratch-and-sniff stamps. They will feature ice pops, complete with a sweet, fruity smell.

The Postal Service's William Gicker said ideas like this have helped keep the stamp program afloat, even as first-class mail volume goes down.

The stamps will be issued starting June 20.
