(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Public pools are slowly starting to re-open as Illinois moves into Phase 4.
Under Phase 4, public pools can conduct open swim at 50 percent of their rated capacity.
Some municipalities are choosing to keep their pools closed for the season. Others are open for lap swim and water fitness classes.
That's the case in Glenview, where the Flick Aquatic Center is opening  Saturday to swimmers who made a reservation ahead of time.
Jena Johnson, with the Glenview Park District, said lap swimmers were looking forward to getting back into the water.
"They are itching to get back in the pool and be able to get back into the water. So we had a lot of phone calls and a lot of emails from lap swimmers," Johnson said.
She said the first bloc of reservations disappeared as soon as they were offered.
"As soon as we announced that we would be opening the pool but we didn't have the time slots available for reservation yet, they were already calling and trying to reserve and figure out how to do that," Johnson said.
