CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A recent poll suggests the number of Illinoisans who disapprove of Governor Pritzker is rising. A report claims JB Pritzker is the nation's eighth most unpopular governor, even as his approval ratings among Illinois voters have held steady.

In a poll by Morning Consult, Governor Pritzker's disapproval rating rose from 35 percent earlier this year to 42 percent. About 21,000 registered voters in Illinois were polled between July 1 and Sept. 30.

The Sun-Times reports the same poll found Pritzker's approval rating was 43 percent in the latest poll, which is essentially the same as he had earlier this year.

Morning Consult said most of the rising opposition to Pritzker comes from Republicans, many of whom are upset about such things as legalized recreational marijuana and a ballot question next year on a graduated income tax in Illinois.

Of those polled, 14 percent said they were undecided.
