CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Prayers were said Tuesday outside the 2nd District police station, on 51st and Wentworth, where Officer Samuel Jimenez had been assigned since the summer.

Purple and black bunting was hung from in front of the 2nd District police station.

Earlier, street pastor Dr. Donovan Price set up a wooden cross that had a heart and a star attached to it and murdered officer Samuel Jimenez’s name on it. Then, Dr. Price knelt in prayer.

He said he prayed for "love for him and his family. Love for the city, this country and love for a peace that I know we can have."

"There’s a lot of things that won’t be happening now. There’s a lot of lives that doctor could have saved, there’s a lot of medicine and health that that pharmacy tech could aid people with and there’s countless things Officer Jimenez had in his long police career that he could have had," Prince said.

Price said he left similar wooden crosses outside Mercy Hospital in memory of Monday’s two other victims, Dr. Tamara O’Neal and pharmacy resident Dayna Less.
