CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Demonstrators took to the Loop today to protest President Trump's visit to Chicago.

They were kept across the Chicago River by police, but many protesters faced Trump Tower, holding their signs and shouting slogans like, “Lock Him Up!” and “Trump Must Go.”

“He shouldn’t be in our city. We don’t support him. Nobody here supports him," one woman said. "We’re upset and we’re letting people know about it.”

Near Wabash and Wacker, a small group of Trump supporters held signs. One pro-Trump demonstrator debated jobs with a demonstrator. The two sides yelled at each other, but police formed a barrier to keep the peace.

Many of the anti-Trump protesters marched through the Loop.

Trump was expected to attend a political fundraiser at his namesake building in Chicago, organized by Cubs co-owner Todd Ricketts.

Earlier Monday, Monday addressed the International Association of Chiefs of Police, where the welcome was warm.
