CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Architecture fans and simply curious people toured 350 sites in 38 neighborhoods this weekend as part of Open House Chicago.

It was the ninth annual festival organized by the Chicago Architecture Center.

Visitors snapped pictures of Millennium Park and the Lakefront from the new outdoor observation deck on the 11th floor of the Prudential Building.

Buffalo Grove resident Phil Kaplan was eager to see the building that he remembers being overwhelmed by as a child when it was the tallest building in Chicago.

"It looks very similar on the outside. Inside is all different," he said.

Some had personal reasons for checking out some of the sites, like Kathy, whose company will be moving into the Old Post Office soon and she wanted to see what her work environment will be like.

Locations change yearly and those available this time included the Civic Opera House, the Federal Reserve Bank, Lake Point Tower, the Forum in Bronzeville, the Edgewater Beach Apartments and the Baha'i Temple in Wilmette.
