Noble Network Of Charter Schools Encourages Students To Register To Vote

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A charter school company in Chicago said it has likely registered hundreds of new voters for the upcoming election.
The Noble Network of Charter Schools has 17 high schools in the city. Its goal was to register to vote 90 percent of the 700 or so eligible students in those schools.
During the previous two elections Noble did this, spokeswoman Chanelle Bell said nearly 2,093 students registered.
"A lot of our students who normally wouldn’t have taken the initiative to register, now have the opportunity to vote," she said.
"We also provide them with a Power Point and a lesson to explain the importance to register and why it’s important as a community member to be involved in civic engagement."
Bell said the charter school network effort wraps up on Friday.
