CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- In their latest round of dueling TV ads, Republican Governor Bruce Rauner and his Democratic Challenger J.B. Pritzker slam each other over taxes and get personal.

The Rauner campaign’s new ad resurrects a previous issue involving one of JB Pritzker’s North Side mansions. It calls him the Porcelain Prince and says, to avoid paying hundreds of thousands in property taxes, Pritzker had all the toilets removed from his second home, and had the building declared uninhabitable.

"A royal flush of tax avoidance," the ads says.

The Pritzker campaign was prepared with an immediate answer, saying Rauner has nine homes and has appealed his taxes 22 times. Now he's criticizing someone else for doing the same thing? The ad asks.

"Now that's bad."

Rauner said he’s never personally appealed his property taxes, but admits a condo association in at least one of his buildings did.
