CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Former Governor Pat Quinn is looking to prevent Mayor Emanuel from serving a third term in office.

Quinn said he and volunteers have collected half of the 100,000 signatures needed to get the term limits question on the November ballot. He told CBS 2 it’s nothing personal against Emanuel.

“Every other big city in America has a term limit on its mayor, the big cities like new York and Los Angeles and Philadelphia and Houston,” he said. “We ought to give voters a chance to vote on that.” is the website where it says its time to open up City Hall and let the people of Chicago in. The petition deadline is in early August.
