CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A gunman opened fire mid-afternoon Saturday on busy Wabash Avenue, wounding one man.

Markers at the scene, in the 100 block of South Wabash Avenue, indicated a dozen shots were fired in the 2 p.m. Saturday attack, but the only injury was a wound to the 21-year-old victim's arm.

The man told police he was walking north on Wabash when he heard the gunshots and felt pain in the arm.  Witnesses said the gunman was about 6'2" and wore a black jacket with red piping.  They said he ran south on Wabash and turned east onto Adams.

Paramedics stablized the man at the scene, then transported him to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
