Man Arrested After West Pullman SWAT Standoff Shot Girlfriend’s Car: Police

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A SWAT standoff that started Tuesday night in the Far South Side West Pullman neighborhood ended with the arrest of a man who allegedly threatened his girlfriend and shot her car.

The 21-year-old man threatened to kill his girlfriend after an argument about 9:15 p.m. in the 11700 block of South Lowe, according to Chicago Police. He then fired multiple rounds at her car, damaging the vehicle, before running back to a home and barricading himself inside.

A SWAT team responded to the home and the man was taken into custody early Wednesday, police said. Charges against him were pending.

No injuries were reported, police said.
