CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The Loyola men's basketball team was given a hero's welcome home Sunday after the Ramblers' thrilling win over Tennessee on Saturday night.

Students and fans gathered at Sean Earl field Sunday afternoon to greet the team as it returned to campus following its last minute win the previous night. One freshman student said she has a paper due tomorrow, but there was no was she was missing a chance to celebrate the Sweet 16-bound Ramblers.

"It's really cool to come out here and get to see them in their prime," she said. "They're doing better than a lot of people thought they can do, and that's amazing to see as a fan. Even though I had hope, I was always a little worried that, 'Oh my gosh, we're playing a three seed, is this going to happen?'"

It did happen, and the crowd gathered Sunday agrees that it can happen again. The Ramblers will play Thursday against the winner of the University of Cincinatti and University of Neveda-Reno, who play Sunday night.
