CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Mayoral candidate Lori Lightfoot is criticizing the Emanuel Administration for being too secretive about what is being offered to entice Amazon to locate its second headquarters here.

Lori Lightfoot makes it clear that she wants Amazon to choose Chicago and bring as many as 50,000 jobs here. But she said, she’s concerned, as many others are, about how much the city is offering to the mammoth company.

"It's not worth doing everything, without a thoughtful way in which we make sure that the tax dollars and the incentives being made are actually something that makes sense and that we can pay for," she said. "But the problem right now is that there has been zero transparency over what the incentive package was that ws offered up.

"Look I hope we get Amazon, but I would like to know what the terms of the deal are before we tie ourselves up for another tax and fiscal giveaway that the city of Chicago doesn't know anything about."

City and business officials, at least at the beginning, were loath to let competing cities know what Chicago is offering.
