CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Two men face reckless homicide charges stemming from a September accident that killed two others in west suburban Bartlett.

Prosecutors said Uriel Zenteno, 23, of West Chicago, and  Jordan Gant, 20, of Bolingbrook, were racing west on Stearns Road approaching Munger Road in Bartlett shortly before 6 a.m., Sept. 25, when Zenteno lost of control of his car and veered head-on at 84 miles an hour into two eastbound cars.  Eastbound motorist Chris Arbeen and Miguel Flores, 23, a passenger in Zenteno's car, died in the accident.

Police said Zenteno topped 100 miles an hour just before the crash, and Gant, 90 miles an hour. During an initial appearance before a DuPage County judge, bond was set at $300,000 for Zenteno and $200,000 for Gant.

State's Attorney Robert Berlin said the blatant disregard for public safety allegedly shown by the pair was "astounding."
